The Department of Computer Engineering established in the year 2009, is one of the youngest of the five Engineering departments in ATTC. The department first introduced Diploma in Computer Application in 2006 with 18 boys and 7 girls. The importance of changing the discipline from Computer Application to Computer Engineering was felt back in 2009 in order to serve the growing need of manpower with specialization in Diploma in Computer Engineering and to keep in tune with the current nomenclature.
The Computer Engineering department, since its inception, has maintained a steady growth in every sphere of its activities and played an important role in bringing a vibrant and forward looking academic environment within the College.
The department runs AICTE approved course and is currently working towards getting the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation. At present the Department has over 53 students and over 10 faculty members. The faculty members of the Department have already published various research papers in different National & International Journal. Several student projects are developed every year with its application in various department of the college and some also outside the Institute. The department has also taken several new initiatives in restructuring and strengthening its academic programs over the past years. A new curriculum was introduced in 2013 with key focus on practical understanding and current trends. Recently the department released its first newsletter ”Attconnections” in an effort that it proves to be a key tool in strengthening relationship with the students and also allowing to keep in touch with the latest news of the department.
The department also consistently works towards providing training to its students and faculty conducting over various training programs throughout the year ,also making them attend various conferences and workshops in the state and outside.
Further plan for the department includes

• Goal oriented teaching & Project Oriented training for students.
• Coaching to students for further studies.
• Software Club Activities.
• Publication of papers in various Journals.

Students will be able to identify, formulate and solve computing problems by applying their knowledge of mathematics, computer science, and scientific method. They will also be aware of the role of computing in multiple disciplines.

Students will be able to model, design, implement and verify a computing system to meet specified requirements while considering realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
Students will be capable of communicating effectively with team members, working cooperatively, respectfully, creatively, and responsibly as a member of a team.

Students will be aware of the benefits of developing their understanding and professional capabilities through lifelong learning.
Students will have knowledge of professional and ethical responsibility and will contribute to society through active engagement with professional societies, schools, civic organizations or other community activities.
