ICC (Internal Complaint Committee) at ATTC (Govt Polytechnic)
The above committee has been constituted and is functional in our college with effect from 7.12.15.
The government of India has enacted Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) act 2013, to provide a safe and secure environment to women at the workplace. The act has come into force on 9th December 2013. This act under section 4 casts an obligation upon all the employers/Colleges to constitute Internal Complaint Committee by an order in writing for receiving complaints of sexual harassment.
This committee is committed to prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among students and employees.
Although it is a known fact that in the State of Sikkim such act will not have much role to play, as currently we live in a society and have the culture that gender equality has been already maintained and very rare cases come up pertaining to the nature of sexual harassment.
Never the less, we have this committee now; therefore let’s give our hundred percent to make our campus and society zero inequality and congenial for everyone to live in.
The names of the members constituting the committee are as follows:
1.Mrs Noorjahan Khatoon(Committee Head)
