The Department of Mechanical Engineering established in the year 2005, is one of the oldest of the seven Engineering program in ATTC. The department of Diploma in Mechanical engineering was established in 2005 with a sanctioned intake of 35 and in the later years the intake capacity was increased to 45. In the year 2013 a new 3 year program on Automobile, specializing in Vehicle Testing was added under the community college scheme (NSQF) of AICTE.

Mechanical engineering is a core engineering department which requires a lot of practical as well as theoretical study; to pertain to it we have a very qualified team of faculty members and well maintained laboratories and workshops. The Mechanical Engineering department, since its inception, has maintained a steady growth in every sphere of its activities and played an important role in bringing a vibrant and forward looking academic environment within the College.

The department runs AICTE approved courses and in the year 2018 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering has been accorded accreditation by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is a very proud moment for the Department. At present the Department has over 141 students and over 8 faculty members. The faculty members of the Department have already published various research papers in different National & International Journal. Several student projects are developed every year with its application in various department of the college and some also outside the Institute. The department has also taken several new initiatives in restructuring and strengthening its academic programs over the past years. A new curriculum was introduced in 2016 with key focus on practical understanding and current trends. The department periodically releases its newsletter ”MECHTECH” in an effort that it proves to be a key tool in strengthening relationship with the students and also allowing to keep in touch with the latest news of the department.

The department also consistently works towards providing training to its students and its faculty conducting various training programs throughout the year and also making them attend various conferences and workshops in the state and outside.
